Balsam Community Center is a historic schoolhouse building available for rentals. The rental is for the inside of the building with shared public use of the outside areas with Jackson County Parks & Recreation. The main room easily seats 75 people with a secondary smaller room allowing 100+ guests. There are 16 6 foot tables and 3 8 foot tables. We have a kitchen area that has a stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The kitchen also has a large wood table that is 11 feet x 44 inches, perfect for food service. Popular rentals are baby showers, children's birthday parties, family reunions, classes and workshops, life celebrations and even intimate weddings. Since the building is county owned, there is a strict no alcohol rule.
We have a fully renovated kitchen with new appliances in 2017. The large room has seating for about 75 -100 people. Outside, there is a large picnic shelter, playground and basketball court, making it a great place for children's birthday parties and cookouts. Because the building is owned by the county, there is a strict no alcohol policy.
